Description

NIKO  is a lively and affectionate spaniel who is generally happy although can be a little anxious around loud noise and busy environments. he is excitable and will greet you with whole-body tail wagging first thing in the morning, presenting you with a selection of much-loved toys. he has boundless energy for play and walkies and will require a home which can provide at least two long (an hour x 2, minimum) walks a day as well as puzzle games and mental stimulation. he is the sweetest, most enthusiastic dog, eager to please and very trainable. Still very much a puppy. In foster I have found an hour, and a half walk in the morning and 45 mins in the afternoon or evening to be the perfect combination to keep this cutie happy. Once he has had some exercise and burnt some energy, he loves to cuddle and will snuggle against his person on the sofa. Niko enjoys carrying a bone or a stick at most times, and I think this little dog would be happiest with a job to do. he is very clever.

  • Reasons for Relinquishment:
NIKO was not getting on with a new dog in the home and displayed guarding behaviours when the other dog picks up niko’s  toys. Although the owner can take the toy away, NIKO remains agitated for a short while. Due to the confined space of the home and the stress caused, the owner feels Niko would be better suited to a home without other dogs. Whilst in Foster, we have not seen any sign of aggression or guarding at all. Niko is an absolute joy and lovely little spaniel who will be someone’s dream dog. he is happy and playful with dogs of his  size out and about (nervous of larger breeds) but would likely struggle with another dog in the home as he doesn’t like to share.

and love.
