Monty is a lively and affectionate 3 year old Border Terrier cross who adores being around people. His ideal home would be with a family or individual ready to commit to helping Monty settle and thrive. He could live in a household with children of 12 years old and above. He needs owners who are home most of the time, especially during the settling in period, and are willing to provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep his curious mind engaged. Monty is best suited to a home where he is the only pet, although he is happy to have calm canine friends out on walks. Monty requires a secure garden where he can safely explore. His new owners will need to have a plan in place to manage his enthusiasm for pushing through doorways and windows, as he is always keen to investigate! If you are experienced with active terriers or simply eager to learn, Monty could be the perfect match. If you are after a small dog with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life, Monty might just be your match. This 3-year-old Border Terrier Cross is full of bounce, charm, and curiosity. Monty needs a home where someone is around most of the time to begin with, as he can get very distressed when left alone. He has previously only managed short periods by himself, and will need gentle, consistent support to build up his confidence. Monty thrives with active owners who can keep up with his energy levels and provide plenty of mental stimulation. He must be the only dog in the home and cannot live with cats or small furries, but he can enjoy walks with doggy pals once settled. A secure garden is essential.
Monty is a cheeky, affectionate little dog who loves fuss, cuddles, and going on adventures. He is incredibly people-focused and wants to be involved in everything you do. He travels well, loves his walks, and is always keen to explore new places. Indoors, he can settle nicely once his needs are met – especially if he gets to snooze nearby in your bedroom. He is housetrained (though may need a refresh in a new routine), and already knows his name and a few basics. Monty can be strong on lead and excitable, especially when meeting new people or discovering something interesting, so he will really benefit from positive, ongoing training. He enjoys soft toys and takes treats gently when he is relaxed – though when anxious, food is not much of a motivator. Monty can be destructive if bored or left alone, and he does get frustrated when doors are shut or he feels confined, so a calm, structured environment where his enthusiasm can be channelled in the right way will help him thrive. He might be small, but he is mighty – and full of love to give!
This is just a small selection of the dogs we have currently looking for homes. These dogs are in the care of our fabulous fosterers, and ready to start their new lives. Could one of them be your new family member?
We read all applications and get in touch with those that look like a good match for one of our dogs.
If your application looks like a good match we will contact you to arrange a home visit – this is a mandatory part of adopting.
Once the home visit is complete we will arrange for you to meet suitable pets.
We love to see updates about how the dogs are getting on and we offer rescue back up for the rest of the dog’s life.
